Olympic Fever!

I don't know about you, but I have been pretty obsessed with the Olympics over the last couple of weeks. Gymnastics, swimming, speed walking, running, diving and so many more events, it is all so exciting!

Do you ever wonder if there are Psychic Olympics on the 17th Parallel, and if so what would Eva and Edgar compete in? And what about 13, is he a referee? I think some sport themed Olympic movies are in order here.

On your mark, get set, go!

I know I mentioned it before, but it can't hurt to remind you all again that the collection deadline ends Friday, August 15th. Please make sure to use an active email address in your accounts page. Without an active email we have no way of getting in touch with you.

If you are finding it hard to keep your movies interesting why not try adding a smash of action into mix. Action is a great way to liven up your movies and keep your stories moving.

Important Reminder!

Permission Forms
Just a reminder if your movie has been chose as a 'must see' to make sure to send in a qubo consent form by the collection deadline. Without a permission form we will not be able to screen your movie and that would be tragic!

Also, the collection deadline is quickly approaching, August 15th to be exact. So get busy, only a week left to really impress the Zimmer twins and qubo staff with your best movies yet!

Movie Tip #6

Change of Scenery

Do you ever have those days when you feel really bored of the same old same old! You know, those days when all you really need is a change of scenery to shake things up a bit!

This holds true for your movies too! Next time you find yourself feeling a little uninspired with your story, why not try throwing a little change of scenery into the mix. For example, instead of Edgar and Eva staying home to do homework, maybe they venture out to a restaurant to work on their math equations. While there, Edgar spills his dinner all over Eva's algebra and then a psychic meat ball fight ensues! See how a simple change in environment can cause a whole new exciting chain of events to unfold.

Movie Tip #5

Surprise!

If you are having trouble coming up with another exciting movie idea, why not try using a twist or a surprise to really make things interesting. Maybe Eva is being haunted by a strange snoring ghost, but (heres the twist) it turns out it was just Egar sleep levitating. Or what is 13 doing running off to the jungle every night and did Eva really turn Egar into a toad? I'm not sure, you tell us! Remember, keeping your viewers in suspense till the end is a great way to keep them watching and coming back for more! So try it out...I am certain we will be surprised.

Movie Tip #4

Descriptive Words

Here is a great tip, try using more descriptive words in your story, they can really make the difference between a good movie and a great movie. For example does 13 go out to get lunch...or instead does 13's stomach rumble like a volcano as he spins into an unsteady tornado of a teleport that lands him in the middle of the cat food aisle in the Occult-o-mar.

Try it out, descriptive words can really make your story sparkle.

Movie Tip #3

Movie Type

Have you ever asked yourself before you begin making a Zimmer movie what type of movie you are making? Is it action, adventure, thriller, drama, comedy or even better a dramedy?

The type of movie you are making is an important aspect to consider before you start creating. For example, if you think you are making an action movie, then make sure to have a lot of good action sequences through out or if you are making a comedy try to put in as much funny as possible.

I like to run my ideas by a friend or family member first to see how they react to my story lines. Why don't you try it out.

Movie Tip #2

Story Time
A good story is an important key to making a great movie and also another way to get noticed by the qubo staff and Zimmer Twins. A well developed story idea is ideal, so try planing your story out on paper first, I find making notes is always a fantastic way to keep my stories in order. Your movie should have a strong beginning, middle and end and make sure that it is long enough to tell the story well.

Here is another quick tip if you are having trouble finding a place to start:
There are six great starters provided for you on the make a movie page, that means you just have to figure out the middle and the end.

Movie Tip #1

Know Your Characters!
One of the most important parts to making a good movie is to have great characters! Try asking yourself some questions about the main characters in your story, it will help you to better understand how they might react in certain situations and how they might relate to one another. Pretend like you are interviewing them and ask them everything you would like to know, even their juiciest of secrets!

For example: What are their likes and dislikes? Are they hyper or really sleepy? Do they love adventure or romance? Would they rather read a book or ride a roller coaster?
